The following article, based on California Health Services
Agency/Environmental Health Department Informational Bulletin No. 97-08, explains
the different types of pool covers.

The British Consumer Safety Unit at the Department of Trade
and Industry contracted a pool cover study in 1992. This Unit is the British
equivalent of the U.S. CPSC. Results of the study were published in the following
